WHAT I’VE LEARNED FROM ART

As an Artist you do what you can, not what you want. The can is given from who you are. The message comes from inside; you cannot fake it.

All Art is technique and emotion. When technique overtakes emotion, coldness possesses the creation; when emotion overtakes technique, the creation is possessed by sentiment without refinement. The balance between technique and emotion leads to elegance.

Don’t be afraid of your technical limitations. Turn them into your best asset. As an Artist you have to create your own way.

The time an idea is spinning in your head is a precious time that you are wasting from expressing yourself. When you overthink it, the idea losses spontaneity.

As an Artist you can’t impose yourself limitations, you dream big and make it possible.

If you are comfortable, you are repeating yourself – you are not creating; time to open a new path.

How, when, and where to move on is an instinct you develop.

The more you push the limits, the freer you will be.

Embrace the doubt, it will always go with you hand in hand.

Embrace the difficulties because they pave the way.

There will be voids and abysses, wait patiently.

Perfectionism is good if it doesn’t take over you.

Determination is needed, in Art and in life.

As a French-Swedish clothing brand says: “Discipline is not a dirty word”.

“It is vital to differentiate between decoration, artistic and Art.”

General incomprehension should give you confidence. Faced with general acceptance – be suspicious.

An Artist doesn’t look for complacency. An Artist wants to move, not to dazzle.

All the setbacks are worthy for the freedom you get and you give.
